Vaporetto

Greensboro Project Space

Responding to a trip to the Venice Biennale, this piece was comprised by a small room constructed within the gallery. The small cubic space had one window and one door which locked from the inside, preventing viewers from entering. Instead, though a peephole, backed by a miniature video, a vista of swiftly moving could be seen. Inside the room, a small Palm Tree, riding aloft a Roomba, exhaustively travelled the space at intervals. As seen through a frosted window, the silhouette of palm fronds touristed and oversaw the fastidious cleaning of their habitation, alluding to a compressed adventurism, and an impossible task bound to the absurd.
